Too Protective..or Just Right

I have a seven year old..and being a parent has been an everyday learning experience. I wonder if it was a real job if i would have been fired already???? Who knows!!!! You know the satisfaction of cooking something new...and within an hour you obtain your answer if it was a job well done or not??? Well with parenting I think until your children are adults themselves you don't know if you succeeded or failed miserably. You read all the parenting books...you mingle with other moms..but are they not in the same shoes as you? Hoping and praying that the tidbits they have picked up on from others is fail proof? I would like a buzzer installed somewhere in my home that alerts me when I'm heading in the wrong direction with discipline or nutrition or whatever I'm doing wrong. Maybe rent the Nanny from Nanny 911 and have her follow me around day in and day out. I don't want an observation, I want her to butt in at anytime she feels necessary.

  1. I hear ya girl! Parenting is a daunting task, and for the most part, you will not see the fruits of your labor for a very, very long time. But I do have to say there are times I immediately see results of my parenting and those times, though few and far between are so gratifying and motivating as a parent. I guess all we can do is "keep on truckin..."

  2. I forgot to mention...

I don't think you can be "too protective" THESE days. There's just too much sick, evil stuff going on. Unless you're keeping your child locked in their room 24/7, I think too protective is the way to go!
