I'm Not a Good Friend, I'm Sorry

I'm surprised I didn't put this in the list prior to this post, but it could of been because it needed it's own little spot to itself. Why do we try so hard to keep, make, impress, and become a loyal friend? Doing so is right up there on my list of tough things I probably won't master in my lifetime. I DO NOT want to go out to the wee hours just to show I'm putting in the effort to be a good friend. I DO NOT want the responsibility or the guilt felt when I let someone down. Yep I'm not good at remembering birthdays...and yes I'm bad at social events when I'm worried how much money I DO NOT want to spend on a round of drinks for everyone. Does this make me a negative person?? I'm very positive, I just think it might be easier not to commit to friendships that's all. Look at all the plus sides to it:
  • save money
  • less drama
  • more time to do other things (whether it's cooking, cleaning, who knows..playing tetris)
  • there are no fights to be upset about
  • save minutes on your phone bill
  • no risk of ruining the friendship
  • no pressure to make time for anyone
I don't want to be the old lady with 62 cats...but I don't want to live life walking on eggshells either. Not to mention I don't like cats..
